Decent linen pants, sizing off

I bought a pair of Wide Leg Linen Pants after Christmas. The material is good, feels durable and soft as linen should. My order arrived in 6 days to my address in California. I usually wear a size M, but these were a bit snug in the waist and slightly short for 'wide leg' on my 5'7" frame. I had to exchange them for a larger size, which was a simple process through their customer service email. The new pair fits better, but it took an extra week to sort out. It's nice to find sustainable apparel, but better sizing info would help avoid the hassle.
